The core equipment of Asia's first giant offshore drilling platform is made of "Venus"

Recently, the carbon dioxide compressor unit developed and manufactured by Venus Co., Ltd. has successfully "settled down" on the Enping 15-1 platform and has become the key core equipment of the platform. This is the first time that the company's products have been applied to offshore platforms, which is of great significance.

Enping 15-1 Platform

Enping 15-1 platform is the first offshore carbon dioxide storage demonstration project in China. After completion, it will be one of the offshore crude oil processing platforms with the most equipment, complex functions and high level of intelligence in Asia. After being put into operation, it is estimated that 300000 tons of carbon dioxide can be stored each year.

Company R & D and manufacture of carbon dioxide compressor unit

In order to meet the requirements of offshore operation, the carbon dioxide compressor unit developed by the company adopts anti-corrosion materials for the fuselage, middle body, pipe fittings, valves, fasteners, etc., which can resist marine salt spray corrosion. The compressor pipeline is designed according to ASME B31.3, and the whole machine adopts a skid and two machines layout, with a small area.

The unit belongs to the offshore carbon dioxide storage module of Enping 15-1 platform. The whole module weighs about 750 tons. The core equipment includes carbon dioxide compressor unit, molecular sieve, cooler, etc. It is an important device of Enping 15-1 central platform. After separation and dehydration of the carbon dioxide associated with the offshore oil field, the project will inject it back into the underground salt water layer and permanently store it in the depth of the formation.

Location of compressor

At present, the upper block of Enping 15-1 platform has completed the loading operation, successfully boarded the offshore oil 229, the largest barge in Asia, and is about to go to the oil field in the eastern South China Sea to enter the stage of offshore installation and joint deployment. It will eventually serve in the Enping 15-1 oilfield in the Pearl River Mouth Basin of the South China Sea.
